A trip to the doctor.....

Led to a breathing treatment. Aidan has had this cough for a couple of weeks now, and I just couldn't find anything to get rid of it. So I finally caved in this afternoon and took him to the doctor. She thinks that he has bad allergies, so I have to give him breathing treatments every 4 hours as needed. Good thing I had this machine. Jude always had troubles as a little guy, so I had got this machine, seeings how the insurance was going to pay for it. So it has really come in handy. I hope it clears up his cough! And I also hope that he doesn't catch anything else, that doctors office was PACKED! Full of kids coughing all over one another, sniffing and sneezing. Ugh, I felt like germ city when I left there! All of these poor kids. I hate seeing my kids sick. So anyway, that was my Monday. :) Sounds fun huh? hehe! Hope you all had a better day than me!

Laura,
I know what you are going through all too well!! My Shane started having troubles when he started Kindergarten. He would get sick and within a week or so it would be much worse and we had to start he breathing treatments and then later the doctor prescribed an inhaler for Shane. They just said he had asthma and left it at that. Last spring, the Ped finally referred us to an asthma/allergy specialist. Every winter, Shane would be at the doctor's at least 4 times because he would get a cold and I would have to start the treatments and it wouldn't help. He would end up on antibiotics and steroids so he could get better. He even ended up with pneumonia once. Well, last April we found out the cause of the asthma...allergies! He's now on a new asthma medication that helps prevent him from needing the inhaler. He only got sick ONCE this winter and needed to start antibiotics :) Within the last two weeks, the sneezing and coughing started again and I know it's that time of year that his allergies are going to wreck havoc, so he's taking Claritin daily. It keeps him going. It's so fun having to deal with this. Aften can't understand why I don't freak when she coughs and sneezes like I do with Shane! LOL

Oh, by any chance does your son have dark circles under his eyes...almost like a purplish cast? That's a sign that a person has allergies. We would always see that and know Shane was sick and that's when I would start his medications. I pay more attention to people that get that now...they think they just have colds but there is more to it!

Hope your little guy feels better soon!

Yeah, you often get sicker from all the germs in the waiting room.....and it is no joking matter. Poor little guy....It is H*** to have a persistant cough; speaking from experience.
